SK: biting(?).

Professor Moriarty was fixed, but a bad biter, specializing in bare toes, or his companion skunk Gherkin. He outgrew it, thankfully. I really had to learn patience, and giving him time outs in the playpen.

I put the question mark because its not really biting as usual.  Sebastian
will be a year old in a couple of months.  He's a male, unfixed.  He's
generally a lovey, but in the last month the hormones have kicked in and he
"mounts" whatever part of me he can reach, Then he grabs with his teeth.  I
got him when his owner had some problems and couldn't keep him any more.  My
previous skink was a fixed female so I have no experience with this.  1.
Will this behavior stop when breeding season ends?  2.  If I get him fixed
will it stop?  3.  When I push or lift him away he just comes right back, he
knows I object to the bite because he'll try keeping his mouth off me.  Is
there any other way to stop this behavior?  Right now at night when I get
tired of fighting about it I put him off the bed and he waits until I'm
asleep and gets back on the bed and sleeps with me without any problem.
Thanks for the help

Both are mammals, but I don't believe they were ever  classified in the
same family.

In the late 90s, research done by Dr.  Jerry Dragoo, University of New
Mexico, skunks were reclassified into their own  family.... they are no
longer
'related' to  weasels, etc.

Skunks are not in the raccoon family. Coatimundi, kinkajou and I forget
which else now are related to the raccoon. I forget the family relations of
the skunk at the moment. The red panda was also classified with the raccoon
but I recall them changing this.
