There will be separate courses for One-Design Centerboards and Catamarans, One-Design Keelboats, and another course for PHRF, Multihulls and Corsair Trimarans. There will be trophies for any class of five or more boats. Each class will be governed by it's respective One-Design Class Rules. The current FCA PHRF ratings will be used to establish PHRF Handicap fleets when there are not enough entries to form a one-design class. Deepwater Races, July 31 - August 3, 2003 Offshore racers use the Deepwater Races as a challenging way to get their boats from all the various Lake Erie Ports to South Bass Island for the Bay Week Regatta at Put-in-Bay, August 4, 5, & 6, 2003.. Last year, for the second time, we had a fleet of boats, racing form Buffalo, NY to the Bay. This will continue! The start for the Buffalo Deepwater Race will be Thursday Night, July 31, 2003.. This will be in addition to the Deepwater Races leaving from Cleveland on Friday, August 1, Toledo, Port Clinton, Sandusky on Saturday, August 2, and Detroit on Sunday, August 3 and all finishing at Put-in-Bay. Offshore Multihulls: The Sandusky Deepwater, on Saturday, August 2, 2003, traditionally has had the most participation for the multihulls. This is an 18 mile race from Sandusky, Ohio to South Bass Island(Put-in-Bay). In addition to class flags awarded 3 deep to any class of 5 or more boats, Mike's Hard Lemonade will sponsor the Make It Mikes!!! Flag for First to Finish Multihull.
